Middle school can be sticky!
Posted was an astonishing book that I loved. Posted is written by John David Anderson. I have never read any of his other books but I have heard that they are extremely good. I know that John has written Finding Orion, Granted, Ms. Bixby’s Last Day, and Side-Kicked. I have Granted checked out from our local library right now that I will read this week and let you know what I think about it. I am actually really excited about it because it looks like it has a fantasy twist in it. Anyway, Posted gets a 5 star rating and is fitting for kids ages 11 and up. This book does show some examples of middle school behavior like friend struggles and name calling but otherwise is really clean. I genuinely enjoyed this book and suggest it to anyone out there!
In Posted, Eric, or also known as Frost, faces many challenges at Branton Middle School. Phones are banned due to a mean message and kids are miserable. Frost doesn't feel bad because, one, he doesn’t have a phone, and two, he has his tribe to protect him from the wolves of middle school. Frost, Deedee, Bench, and Wolf find another way to communicate. Deedee starts the chain by putting a single sticky note on Frost’s locker with a cheerful massage. It soon catches on and the whole school is doing it. One day a new girl arrived at Branton, her name is Rose, but she doesn’t seem as delicate as she sounds. This girl is built like a linebacker. Whenever Wolf befriends Rose, Frost’s tribe starts to fall apart. Bench drifts away and Deedee is skittish. Will they ever be together again? Join Frost in his middle school adventure and be sure to cheer him on!
