Cute as a Button
This week I will be posting a great book by Andrew Clements. If you do not know who Andrew Clements is, he has written Frindle, The Losers Club, and so many more. If you look up Andrew Clements Books online, you will find he has so many books you can’t even count! I plan to read The Losers Club soon so keep an eye out for the review. Stay tuned... This week I will be reviewing The Friendship War by, well... Andrew Clements! Once I got into this book, I could not put it down! Definitely a 5 star novel. It reads more like an elementary school book, so I would say if you are 8 and up, you could absolutely read it. Overall, it was a really easy read and grabbed my attention super fast. The Friendship War is a fairly new book, so you should be able to find it in your local library!
The Friendship War is about buttons. Yes, buttons. And a girl named Grace. When Grace visits her grandfather out of state, she finds he has bought an old fabric mill. Grace is notorious for collecting old knick-knack and trinkets, so when she spies a huge closet full of boxes and boxes of buttons, she knows she has to have them. But when she takes buttons to school the next week, she realizes she has started something she didn’t intend to start. Soon enough, everyone in the school begins trading and fighting over buttons and Grace finds she may even lose her best friend in the button war. Can she stop this button battle? (See my fancy alliteration?!) Check out The Friendship War by Andrew Clements and help Grace stop the fad she started.
Happy Saturday!
