Don't Get Stuck in a Dead End

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a great morning and you woke up with a good book in hand. This week I will be reviewing Dead Ends by Jade Lange. This book was so good I finished it in 3 days. WARNING: This is a PG-13 novel. It would be best if you were 13 or older to read this book. When I read it, I was surprised by the amount of language. There was also a little bit of smoochy-smoochy and mention of drugs and violence. I am only saying this because the content is a little mature and would be more appropriate for older kids. But overall, a great read and 5 stars.

The premise of this book revolves around a bully named Dane Washington and Billy D, an unlikely friend who has Down Syndrome. Even though he picks on most, Dane never hits girls or “specials,” which he refers to kids with disabilities. Dane and his mother live in a trailer home and barely make ends meet. He doesn't own a car and is forced to walk to and from school each day. When he meets Billy D, Dane’s life flips upside down. Billy D has always dreamed of finding his father but when his mom moves them from Oregon to Missouri, his dreams are crushed. But with the help of Seely, a skater girl/mechanic who befriends both boys, Billy D may someday see his father again. I really suggest this book to teens who enjoy a good heartfelt story with characters who have disabilities or challenges. You may want to keep the tissues handy, this one is a tear jerker! Sniff sniff.

Enjoy this wonderful read!
