Do Little or Do Lot

Good Morning readers! Today’s post is very special as it is a new movie still in the theatres. And that movie is… Dolittle!!!! Before I saw Dolittle in the theatres, I was unsure whether or not I would like it. Many critics and movie websites rated it poorly. They said it was boring and random. One reviewer even called Dolittle a “cintemaic heap of yak dung!” Well, I thought it was absolutely fantastic!!! The storyline was engaging, funny, and adventurous. You could really tell Robert Downey Jr., who also co-produced the movie, put his own twist on it and made it his own. While it probably won’t be nominated for an Oscar, this critic gives it a perfect 5 stars! The only concern I would have with younger kids watching it is the suspense. Overall, this movie is pretty calm, gentle, and filled with humor but there are a few thrilling, on-the-edge-of-your-seat parts and a few life or death situations. I suggest this movie to all animal and adventure lovers who enjoy a good laugh.

Dolittle (don’t worry, this is not a spoiler) is about Dr. Dotlittle who has a gift to talk to animals. So, of course, the animals need to be able to talk back. Some of the starring voices playing the animals are, Emma Tompson (Nanny McPhee), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Pro-Wrestler John Sena, Selena Gomez (Ramona & Beezus), Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures and Zootopia), Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter’s Voldemort), and many more. All the voice actors really captured the animal’s personalities and were amazingly well done. They impersonated the animals perfectly and added their own flair as well. Besides the animals, the human actors did a spectacular job, too. In addition to Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr., the movie also stars new-comers Harry Collett and Carmel Laniado. I hope you all get a chance to see this wonderful movie (even if that means waiting until it comes out on DVD). As Dr. John Dolittle says, “We have no choice but to embark on this perilous journey.”

Movie Rating: PG Run Time: 1 hour 41 minutes

Enjoy the Show!
