Sea Tails and Sea Tales

Luca.

Hello, everyone! For a change, today I am posting a movie review! Today’s review is going to be on the newly released movie, Luca, starring Jacob Tremblay (Wonder, The Smurfs 2, The Book of Henry) and Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam). Disney and Pixar did such a great job on the animation of this film. The new style of blocky shapes and colorful palettes is absolutely stunning and gives the movie a very playful and imaginative feel. The cartoons look like they came straight out of a picture book. Luca reminded me a lot of the past Pixar movies, Soul, Inside Out, and the collection of Disney + shorts. Recently, I feel that movies have gone down-hill. However, Luca is a fresh new idea that is different from any other out there. Also, I was very surprised by the musical score that was written for Luca. It was beautiful and added even more to the film. With dramatic entrances and emotional suspense, the orchestra for Disney/Pixar truly outdid themselves. Luca is such a good movie that I don’t have much more to say than GO WATCH IT! Even though any person could watch this new film, Luca is definitely directed more towards the younger audience. I am rating Luca at a full 5 stars and suggest for families and kids at the age of 8 and up (adults are still kids too). As different as Luca was, it was exactly what we needed.

Thanks for reading,

Evelyn Harrier
