A New Beginning
Return to Hogwarts 20th Anniversary Celebration:
To kick of the new year I will be reviewing the 20th Anniversary Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts documentary! Released on HBO Max and other streaming platforms, this magical documentary brings a new life to the Harry Potter movies. I found Return to Hogwarts to be very nostalgic, sentimental, and retrospective. It was gratifying and heartwarming to see all of the actors and actresses come together on the screen once more. This includes Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Oliver and James Phelps, Robbie Coltrane, Gary Oldman, Evanna Lynch, Alfred Enoch, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Isaacs, Mark Williams, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and of course, Daniel Radcliffe. The joy that the actors brought after being reunited, brings viewers back to the beginning of their journey through the wizarding world. The originals directors from the Harry Potter films also made an appearance, including Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell, and David Yates. The documentary’s directors; Eran Creevy, Joe Pearlman, Giorgio Testi did a fantastic job building this film and making it pleasing to the eye. The original sets from the movies were used, but the added flair and allurement created a warm presence. At the end of Return to Hogwarts, they paid tribute to the cast members that have passed away. This was done tastefully and reminds us of the legacy they left behind. Hearing the personal stories and adventures of the cast while filming was very inspiring, as well. To understand what its like to grow up around movie cameras and live the childhood of these actors and actresses is beyond our imagination. Return to Hogwarts is an amazing documentary to watch with your family and friends. There was only one mild curse word throughout the entire movie and I was surprised at how good-humored and heart-touching it was. This documentary is suitable for fans of all ages and can make anyone feel like a child again.
Happy New Year,
Evelyn Harrier
